“Korzinka” opened the first K-Corner endcap for Korean products with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of the Republic of Korea and KOTRA

Tashkent, Uzbekistan — In specialized food corners, supermarket guests will be offered a wide assortment of Korean agricultural and food products. At the initial stage, K-Corner will open in three stores of the chain.

On September 22, the official opening of the first specialized K-Corner section took place at the Korzinka — Oybek supermarket, a joint project of the Korzinka chain and KOTRA. As part of the cooperation, the parties signed an agreement on the development of the project, which will make it possible to expand the assortment of original Korean products in the chain’s supermarkets.

Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, KOTRA, and the management of the Korzinka supermarket chain took part in the event. Guests got acquainted with the new format and assortment of the corner, created for lovers of Korean cuisine.

The idea for the project arose after Korean companies participated in the UzFood exhibition. The launch took place within the framework of cooperation established by a memorandum between the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the trade agency KOTRA, the Export-Import Bank of Korea, and Korzinka.

At the first stage, the Korean assortment in the chain was represented by only a few items, mainly snacks and instant noodles. K-Corner will make it possible to expand the selection and offer customers more original products from Korea. Now the shelves of the corner feature many popular Korean goods: Asian noodles, original seasonings, sauces and pastes, snacks, seaweed, sesame oil, drinks, and other products.

Similar corners will soon open in the Korzinka — Sayram and Korzinka — Kokhinur supermarkets. Within the framework of the project, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of the Republic of Korea and KOTRA, together with Korzinka, a convenient format is being created that will make it possible to discover new tastes, cook familiar dishes at home, and find ingredients for original recipes.
