Press Release
Food Universe at UzFood!
The 19th International Exhibition Food Industry - UzFood 2019 is food industry’s most exciting professional event that will be held on April 3 to 5, 2019 at Uzexpocentre NEC, Tashkent. The event is organised by Iteca Exhibitions, the leading organiser of international exhibitions and conferences in Uzbekistan.
UzFood will over again become the main platform to demonstrate the positive changes in the food industry. Over the years, the exhibition has become the food market reference point for domestic and foreign producers. For a number of current industry leaders in Uzbekistan, it has been a starting point for further development of trade and economic relations between countries.
The food industry is today one of the prioritized and dynamically developing sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy. Today, the government takes a keen interest in the food industry, in general, and in the latest technologies for production of food products and beverages and their processing, in particular. The increased focus is also on such areas of importance as food security, safe and quality storage and packaging of finished products, and further development of the industry’s export potential.
In his welcoming speech, J. Khodjaev, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, emphasized the importance of the food industry development: ‘The economy liberalization, favourable trade and economic relations with the region’s largest markets, as well as the opportunities that the government opened up for foreign investors make such exhibitions particularly important. This high importance induces implementation of the most advanced technologies and integrated solutions, which is critical for the industry development. These are technologies and solutions that involve the latest developments and know-how to be used at all stages of the process, from field to end-user’s table, which is what UzFood 2019 is held for.’
UzFood is clearly illustrative of the positive dynamics of the food industry development, which can be observed year after year. Over the years of holding the exhibition, it has become the most effective platform for innovations. In terms of exhibition space, number, and composition of exhibitors, as compared to that in 2018, this year’s UzFood has grown by 20%.

Exhibition Business Programme
Having considered the changes taking place in the food market of Uzbekistan, the domestic and foreign manufacturers take the opportunity to enter new markets and expand their presence in retail networks. For this purpose, on April 4, within the framework of the 19th International Exhibition Food Industry - UzFood 2019, the Retail Centre will be launched that is the only specialized platform in Uzbekistan for food suppliers and purchasers to meet. The event will be attended by the food market key players: major commercial networks and those responsible for purchase of foodstuff. The event purpose is to provide a business platform for meetings and negotiations between trading network representatives and food & beverage suppliers.
For the first time ever, the exhibition will host master classes on cooking American marbled beef to be arranged and held by the American Meat Export Federation (USMEF). The master classes will be held on April 3 to 4 at 12:00 and 16:00 respectively. The business programme will be supplemented by practical demonstrations, presentations, and master classes at the exhibitors’ stands.
UzFood is the event of great social importance, which significantly contributes to designing food industry development programmes to be implemented in our country in the period of 2016 to 2020. The exhibition is fully reflective of the industry’s development dynamics, as it demonstrates the food product variety growth and quality improvement.
