The Cabinet of Ministers approved the master plan for the development of Bukhara until 2043

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, by a resolution dated July 23, approved the master plan for the city of Bukhara for the period until 2043. The document was developed by the state institution “UzshaharsozlikLITI” in pursuance of the presidential decree of September 11, 2023 on improving the public administration system in the field of urban planning and agreed with the Republican Council for Architecture and Urban Planning under the Cabinet of Ministers.

Housing construction

The housing stock will increase from 4,456.31 thousand to 8,085 thousand square meters. meters, the provision of housing per resident - from 15.4 to 21 square meters. meters. Of the new housing construction, almost half (44.84%) will be houses of 3–5 floors, a quarter (25.56%) will be individual houses of 1–2 floors, and the rest will be cottages and high-rise buildings.

Implementation and control

The khokimiyat of the Bukhara region was instructed, within two months, together with the relevant ministries, to develop a comprehensive program for implementing the master plan, taking into account short-, medium- and long-term prospects for construction and attracting foreign investment, and submit it for approval to the Cabinet of Ministers. The khokimiyat will also have to submit a petition to the Cabinet of Ministers to change the city boundaries in accordance with the approved decisions of the general plan.

The resolution invalidated the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of January 22, 2007 on the master plan for Bukhara until 2030. Control over the implementation of the document is entrusted to Deputy Prime Minister Abduvali Ramatov and khokim of the Bukhara region Botir Zaripov.
