Food production leads in the number of enterprises in Uzbekistan
Food production ranks first in terms of the number of industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan.
As of October 1, 2026, there were 13.3 thousand such enterprises in the country, or 20.2% of the total.
According to the National Committee on Statistics, there were 66 thousand industrial enterprises in the republic in total.
The second place by number of enterprises was occupied by the production of other non-metallic mineral products — 9.2 thousand (13.9%). This was followed by clothing production with 6.8 thousand enterprises (10.3%).
Among the most common industrial sectors were also the production of fabricated metal products — 5.4 thousand enterprises (8.2%), furniture — 4.5 thousand (6.9%) and textile products — 4 thousand (6.1%).
Another 3 thousand enterprises, or 4.6% of the total, specialized in the production of rubber and plastic products.
