The export volume of agricultural products has been tasked to increase to $3.5 billion.

Benefits and subsidies are introduced for the export of fruits and vegetables in "modern packaging."

Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on April 8 to increase export potential and develop processing chains in the agricultural sector. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice’s legal information channel.

This year, the export of fruits, vegetables, and other food products is planned to increase to $3.5 billion. Of this, $442 million is expected to come from fruit and vegetable exports to promising markets, and by 2026, this figure should increase to $575 million.

The goal is to obtain phytosanitary permits for the export of 30 new product types to eight countries. It is also planned to invest $40.5 million in packaging production for 2.1 million tons of fruits and vegetables.

Entrepreneurs selling fruit and vegetable products in modern packaging will be able to pay a 1% social tax for their workers. The benefit will apply until January 1, 2028, under the condition that they:

Pay each worker a salary of at least 2 minimum wages (2.3 million sums);

Receive at least 50% of their total income from the sale of products in modern packaging.

Agricultural cooperatives that establish the collection of fruit and vegetable products from household plots, dehkan and farmer farms, sorting, packaging, and sale will be able to receive a compensation of up to 25% of costs. The maximum payout is 3,000 sums per package.

Cooperative members involved in gathering and preparing products will need to undergo training in quality harvesting and export through Edukarantin.uz. A "traffic light" rating system will be launched on the Agroko’makchi platform for cooperatives and their certified members.

For imported equipment used in planting, harvesting, and sorting legumes, a customs duty of 1% will be in effect until April 1, 2027.

Additionally, agricultural enterprises with at least 5 hectares of land will be able to allocate up to 20 sotiks for auxiliary facilities based on the intra-farm land management project. These include cold storage, sorting, drying, processing, packaging workshops, and water tanks.

Earlier, Spot reported that land leasing for agriculture through online auctions will be expedited.
