The export of watermelons from Uzbekistan over the past nine months soared by 8.5 times y/y, according to the state statistics committee.

In January-September, the country exported 48.9 thousand tons of watermelons worth $11.7mn to 13 countries. Kazakhstan became the main importer having purchased 32,600 tons. Russia placed second with 12,000 tons, and Kyrgyzstan third with 3,600 tons.
