Which region of Uzbekistan produces the most vegetables?
According to the State Statistics Committee, 65,721 tons of vegetables were grown in the republic in the 1st quarter of 2021. This is a 5.0% increase compared to the same period of last year.
In the first quarter of 2021, 11.9% of vegetables grown are accounted for by farms, 67.3% – by dekhkan farms and 20.8% – by organizations engaged in agricultural activities.
The volume of grown vegetables by region:
Karakalpakstan – 617 tons
Andijan region – 3,809 tons
Bukhara region – 4,994 tons
Jizzakh region – 984 tons
Kashkadarya region – 3,202 tons
Navoi region – 2,587 tons
Namangan region – 2,030 tons
Samarkand region – 2,910 tons
Surkhandarya region – 19,346 tons
Syrdarya region – 1,236 tons
Tashkent region – 13,808 tons
